April Already?!

Hmmm...it's been awhile. :) Jacobi is now 5 months old and continues to grow and change and learn new things (of course). He now blows raspberries and chews on EVERYTHING. No teeth yet, but surely these teething symptoms will yield some results eventually! He loves to be held so he can stand, rolls around quite a bit, and has worn most of the hair off the sides and back of his head. :P He's outgrown his infant carseat so moved up to a convertible seat this weekend--we went to Springfield, MO this weekend and he seemed to like being able to look out the window for a change. :)

Last weekend Ryan's cousin Annie & her husband Len came to visit. We went hiking, played board games, and visited the few days they were here. Thanks for coming to visit, Len & Annie! :) The hike was Jacobi's first hike and he slept most of the time. He rode in a carrier strapped onto me and then Ryan...guess he loved it if he slept! :P This picture was taken after meeting on Sunday while Jacobi was sleeping...and it wasn't worth waking him just for a picture! :)

Ryan is working on remodeling our small 1/2 bath off of the master bedroom...it's been a slow project because he's
had lots of other things to take his time, but eventually it will be finished. The main objective was to get it mold-free so he replaced some of the moldy sheetrock, removed the window, did a new texture on the walls, and will paint & put a toilet and sink cabinet back in next!

We're also in the process of switching our bedroom with Jacobi's. We're giving him the bigger room so that he has space to play, etc. Also, we're hoping to get licensed to do foster care (with the goal of adopting again) in the next few months, so this re-arranging will make better use of our space for 2 kids! It will be awhile before much happens with that, but we're trying to think ahead and get ready slowly instead of having to be ready on short notice. We'll see if that plan works. :)

Guess that's about all I know. We've been excited for signs of spring and some beautiful weather! Our redbud tree in the front yard has been gorgeous, the grass is green, birds are chirping, we've had 70 degree weather a few days...and now it's in the 30's tonight. That's spring!
I took this picture last Saturday when we had snow--the redbud has been beautiful but I thought the contrast was interesting. :)

What a perfect picture! You certainly caught his smile at the right moment! He is looking so grown up. Give him some hugs from Grandma!
